Additional information
Javier Moya Payà (born in 1982 in Alcoy, Spain) graduated from the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV, Valencia, Spain) with a B.Sc. in Telecommunications Engineering (2007), an M.Sc. in Signal Processing and Communications (2008), and a Ph.D. in Electronics Engineering (2012).
Javier developed his Ph.D. at the Center for Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering (CBET, UPV, Spain) and the Center for Neurosciences of Alicante (Spain), the latter belonging to the Spanish National Research Council of Spain (CSIC)—the most significant public research institution in Spain and the third-largest in Europe.
In September 2012, he started working at the Competence Center for Intelligent Sensor Networks (CC-ISN) at the Lucerne School of Engineering and Architecture (HSLU T&A, Switzerland). For six years, Javier worked as a Senior R&D Engineer performing hardware design of advanced digital signal processing systems for communication networks.
By October 2018, Javier started working at DC-ONE AG (later called GRAPIN AG), a startup providing high-performance computing services in the cloud based on hyper-scale data centers. As Head of Engineering/CTO, Javier was developing a cutting-edge technology platform using FPGA accelerators as cloud-native computing resources.
Javier is currently working for ETH Zürich’s Systems Group as Senior Scientist. In this job position, he is responsible for the Systems Group’s Heterogeneous Accelerated Compute Cluster (HACC) inside the AMD Xilinx University Program.
